Our meat birds are carefully selected for their flavor, growth rate, and adaptability. These breeds are slower-growing than typical commercial meat birds, allowing them to develop naturally for superior taste and texture. Whether you’re looking for dual-purpose birds or dedicated meat producers, these options will thrive with proper care and management. Meat birds must be fed a high protein, balanced starter and grower ration to reach the below weights. We recommend your meat birds have 24 hours access to food, and keeping a red light on them at night will allow them to eat more and grow faster. A light on at night is NOT recommended for pullet layer chicks, so if you are raising them together it's better to leave the light off unless it's the only source of heat.
Colorado Golds: Our best-selling meat bird, the Colorado Golds are bred for elevation and are free from common health issues like ascites. These birds grow slower than Cornish Crosses, resulting in tender, flavorful meat with excellent fat content. Roosters can reach impressive sizes if grown out longer.
Expected grow-out time: 9-10 weeks; weight: 5-6 lbs (average)
Delaware: A true dual-purpose line, these birds grow slowly but produce massive breasts and legs. They are extremely sweet and docile, with a curious personality that makes them enjoyable to raise. A great option for those who want both meat and eggs.

Jumbo Naked Neck: Known for their featherless necks and unique appearance, these dual-purpose birds grow steadily and are easier to pluck than most meat birds. They are hardy, adaptable, and an excellent choice for backyard growers looking for something different.
